You are gonna LOVE this mixed media project!! She's a sassy speakeasy showgirl adorned with "real" feathers, and TONS of sparkle mod podge on a spectacular, circle wood panel :) *All product links are affiliate & for U.S. residents only.* This is a modified Hamburger, only skipping the Gelatos in favor of adding some skin shading and details with the Pitt pens AFTER sealing. If you're new to the Mixed Media Society, or the Hamburger System, then I highly recommend visiting the Stage 0-8 Classrooms to get the full run down of each layer. You can also feel free to just dive right in and follow me :) SuppliesI grabbed my circle wood panel at Michael's, although it did make it slightly more awkward to paint on (especially her skin). I do HIGHLY recommend Gesso-ing her before you add the skin tones. I learned the hard way!! So yeah, make it easy on yourself!! I bought the 18" primed circle (2 Pack) for about $20 in store. You can see all their choices here: https://www.michaels.com/search?q=wood%20circle You can also search online (Amazon) for primed 18" wood circle and it will show you similar items. Or use a canvas!! Or do this in your art journal! I also added these weird feathery things (also from Michaels) but you could totally add real feathers too! Liquitex Gesso https://amzn.to/3OzLePE I used all Lukas Cryl Acrylic paint in the following colors: Carmine, Rose and White Fleshtone by Ceramcoat https://amzn.to/43MFnwA Posca Pen in Black, White and Brown (in this fine nib https://amzn.to/4alESfw) Sparkle Mod Podge https://amzn.to/4cGStje Faber-Castell Pitt Pen in Cinnamon from Skin Tone Pack Glue Gun 👉Ready to get this party started?! What Fans Are SayingKaren, you are absolutely fabulous! You make me feel like I can draw anything. I have recently retired and finally have the time to do some of the art that I have loved since I was in school. I am really at the beginning of my art journey and I hope to learn as much as I can. Thank you for all you do. |
