Sexy Oil Pastel Portrait OVER Acrylic Paint, "Hot Dog" Style!!

Hey Mixed Media Society Member!! I hope your February is off to a beautiful start :) I'm SO excited for this lesson to be out for you to enjoy. I was totally teasing you with it - flashing it in the background of my How to Use Oil Pastels as a Mixed Media Artist series on YouTube!

Now... it's FINALLY your turn to work on this sexy babe step-by-step with me :)

If you've been hanging out with me on YouTube too, you know I'm a newbie to oil pastels :) I've been asked by TONS of my mixed media students over the years to learn HOW to work with them so I could TEACH THEM! So that's what I've been doing!! 

You'll find that this project starts off kinda hamburger style, but instead of reaching for our gelatos to shade this cutie's face - we're gonna grab our oil pastels! And that's pretty much it in terms of supplies. We might add a little colored pencil, but there's no further layering with mod podge or other sealants. Since we quit adding layers, and are only using a few supplies- this is a "hot dog" style project!

If you're a newbie, you DEFINITELY want to start in the Stage 0 classroom called "The Starter." This will tell ya everything you need to know and more about mixed media art supplies - PLUS help you cut through the clutter of all the brands and all the things so you can just find a few staples and START ART-ing already :) Because let's be honest- THAT is why you're here. To art your heart out!! 

 "The Starter" classroom  is also awesome for more seasoned artists who just want to learn more about what I use and why. I'm all about finding the supplies that give you the most VALUE for your $$$, and help you have the most FUN without breaking the bank:)
