Hey Mixed Media Society member!! Have you ever made your own jewelry before? If you haven't, you're in for a real treat!! Today's NEW LESSON finally brings the world of Steampunk to the Mixed Media Society. It's SO much fun!! I actually got a little carried away with today's lesson and ended up making TWELVE different styles of jewelry to inspire you. I recommend you just sit back and watch the lesson videos first to see what speaks to you. Then, gather some supplies and art your heart out!! *All product links are affiliate and for U.S. residents only.* SuppliesAfter you see a design you'd like to try, it's time for a little shopping online, or at your local craft store (don't worry- we can TOTALLY do this on the cheap!). Glue: I've tested a few different types of glue for jewelry making over the years, and Diamond Glaze has been my favorite. I also like this one to use as an adhesive for gluing things down like craft paper. Jewelry Set Ideas:
Craft Paper: You totally don't need this, but it's fun to experiment with. You can also use some collage paper, or pieces of vintage book paper. I discovered that thinner paper worked best, so you might want to keep that in mind. I loved this little collection of papers I found on Amazon. Cords & Chains: If you're doing necklaces, your options here are endless. I suggest buying in bulk if you want to keep this whole thing inexpensive. There are tons of economical choices at your local craft store too. 👉Ready to watch? Let's do it!! |

What Fans Are SayingKaren, you are absolutely fabulous! You make me feel like I can draw anything. I have recently retired and finally have the time to do some of the art that I have loved since I was in school. I am really at the beginning of my art journey and I hope to learn as much as I can. Thank you for all you do. |
