Hey Fun Fab Drawing Club Member!!

I can't believe Halloween is over, but I'm super excited to just enjoy fall and work our way into the BIG holidays together!!

This week there's no new lesson because we've got Brain Stretches & Sketches coming up this Friday on 11/10.

During that LIVE art along, we'll be working on creating some holiday cards together in the style of Anne Keenan Higgins.

If you're not familiar with her work, you've GOT to check her out. She does the most adorable illustrations of figures.

I've been obsessed with them forever!!

She's also published 3 gorgeous books (I've got them ALL!): Ladies Who Drink, Fictionally Fabulous: The Characters Who Created the Looks We Love, and Le Cinema Francais.

Anne's adorable drawings make the BEST references to get you thinking creatively.

If you weren't in the Fun Fab Drawing Club last year at Christmas time, you may have missed some awesome lessons on how to create illustrations for holiday cards in the style of Anne Keenan Higgins.

Since we'll be trying to learn from and emulate her style on Friday during Brain Sketches & Stretches LIVE, you might want to check these lessons out (or revisit them, even if you did them last year!!).

They're seriously SO much fun!!

Hi Fun Fab Drawing Club Member!

How have we nearly made it through the ENTIRE month of October already?! I *hope* you've been drawing along with me for the last few weeks as we've been working our way through pen and ink drawings of the Munster Family!!

This morning when I logged into the Facebook Group, guess who greeted me? This adorable version of Grandpa Munster...

Isn't he just the cutest? I'm obsessed with how much personality he has. His cute eyes have SO much to say!! Way to go S Oul D'Angilillo. You totally NAILED IT!! So proud of you. Awesome job!!

Speaking of awesome job, I'm floored by all of the Lily lessons flooding the Facebook Group! Just look at these beauties....

And from our cute Grandpa Munster lesson last week...

They just feel so genuinely happy, don't they? I love all the variations!!!

Halloween is just days away, and we've got one Munster left to draw before it hits... Marilyn!!

Did you know that Marilyn Munster actually had a psychological SYNDROME named after her?! Yup. If you ever feel like you're the only normal one in the room (physically, mentally, etc.) - you're experiencing the "Marilyn Munster Syndrome." I for one, have DEFINITELY felt like this before!! 😜

To draw Marilyn, I used the exact same supplies as we've been using all month. As always, use whatever you love and have on hand.

Welcome back Fun Fab Drawing Club member!

I can't believe it's week #4 of the Munsters drawing lessons in black pen and ink. We've got quite the collection of Munster drawings floating around in the Facebook group. It's so fun to scroll through!

In case you've missed any of the Munsters lessons that we've done so far, you can find all of them in the Latest Lessons Classroom. Draw along at your own pace whenever you have time! Draw them all, or just a favorite - it's totally up to you!!

Today, we're adding to our collection with Grandpa Munster. Drawing supplies are exactly the same as they have been for the other Munster drawings. If you have questions about supplies, check this lesson out first.

In the Mood For Something Else?

Have you tried the Fun Fab Fantasy Classroom? This one is SUPER fun and can totally be like an extension of Halloween projects, especially if you've never done these before. You've got tons of choices from full color to toned paper drawings, watercolor, charcoal, and even straight up graphite.

Another idea you might enjoy is the Toned Paper Drawings classroom. I absolutely LOVE toned paper. And I feel like it makes shading a face SO much easier because the tan or gray paper becomes your mid-tone for whatever face your drawing, and all YOU have to do is throw in some highlights and shadows, and BOOM, you've got an amazing drawing!

If you love toned paper drawing and have already completed the ones in this classroom, there are also tones on YouTube for you to enjoy:)

Hey Fun Fab Drawing Club Member!! Isn't Lily Munster's makeup incredible when you look at her eyes close up?! WOW!

If you weren't sure which Munster we were drawing today, I think I've just given it away :) I've been having SO much fun seeing so many adorable Munsters popping up in the Facebook group, like this one by Lizzah Yasmine!! Her addition of color is so cool!!

So cute!! One of the club members said the actor for Eddie is still alive and 80 years old now...

?Not sure how to do hashtags? It's super easy- see how I typed a pound sign (#) in from of the club name all squished together with no spaces above?

That's ALL there is to it!! Simply add that string of text at the beginning or the end of whatever text you add to accompany your drawing photo when you post in the group.

Here's an example from one of your fellow club members, Linda:) She got fancy and put her hashtag in the middle of her text! Go Linda!!

When you add the pound sign in front of the club name with zero spaces, the text will turn blue, like it did above for Linda! If it's blue, you know you did it right :) Easy peasey, right?!

I hear ya! Maybe you think the Munsters are incredibly dumb and need something a little more sophisticated, or Halloween really isn't your holiday. No problem...

?Have you finished all the foundational stages of the Fun Fab Drawing Club already (Stages 0-7)? If you have, and haven't started hopping around to try other projects, you can scroll through the Visual Index yourself to pick something you prefer more.

?Have you done the Realistic Portraits classroom yet? There's a charcoal portrait, one in toned paper, and one that is quite challenging from guest artist and student, Bryn Nguyen using the "grid method." Pretty cool if you really wanna be precise and copy a photo line by teeny line!

?Maybe you'd like to try figures? You can learn the Quadrant Method in the Fun Fab Figures Classroom and work on drawings in the first row featured below.

Earlier this summer we added bodies to some of our expression girls in the Sketchin' Expressions classroom, shown in row 2 below.

Or, maybe you'd like to take a trip down fashion memory lane in the Drawing the Decades Classroom to draw the characters in row 3 :)
