For a long time I painted in acrylics and drew in graphite and I would never dream of mixing the two. In fact I used to think that if I used marker or a pencil to do detail work on my paintings it would somehow render it no longer legit. Mixed media is just that: mixing together all of your media into one masterpiece! How genius is THAT?! Thanks to an army of amazing instructors I learned the magic of mixed media. Learning that it was okay to throw all your art supplies into a single project was like...well it was like a dream come true!
There is a tremendous and glorious freedom to working in mixed media. It reemphasizes the fact that there are no rules in art and for each piece PLAY is the primary driving force of inspiration. And so I am proud to show off my mixed media pieces as I know I am showing off a piece of my heart. Pieces for purchase will be listed in the Store. Many have sold, and many have prints made available for purchase. If you are confused or interested, please feel free to email me at [email protected]. If you're interested in learning how to make your own mixed media masterpieces, I highly recommend taking my Mixing the Media course at AwesomeArtSchool.com. |

What Fans Are SayingKaren, you are absolutely fabulous! You make me feel like I can draw anything. I have recently retired and finally have the time to do some of the art that I have loved since I was in school. I am really at the beginning of my art journey and I hope to learn as much as I can. Thank you for all you do. |
